Scarborough Shooting Stars Sign Forward Matt Grace

May 11, 2023

The Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Thursday that they have signed forward Matt Grace. The Hamilton native just finished his collegiate career at the University of Richmond where he averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 14.1 minutes per game through 29 games in his senior year.

“We have followed Matt's collegiate career closely, and think he has a bright future as a pro,” said general manager Brady Heslip. “He improved tremendously from his freshman year up to this past season. His size, basketball IQ, and ability to shoot the ball make him a difficult matchup in his position, especially in our league. We look forward to him coming in and contributing to our team this year and ultimately, watching him develop into a high-level professional.”

Scarborough opens training camp May 18 at Royal Crown Academic school in preparation for their season opener on May 26 at the CAA Centre, in a rematch of last year’s CEBL championship game versus the Brampton Honey Badgers. Scarborough welcomes the Winnipeg Sea Bears to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre for their first home game on June 2. Tickets are on sale now. For more information on the team and schedule visit
