Saskatoon, Sask. (May 6, 2021) - The Saskatchewan Rattlers , member club of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), are excited to announce the re-signing of import guard, Lawrence Moore ahead of the 2021 CEBL season. Moore played with the team in 2019 and was signed to the Rattlers in 2020.

Moore, a Chicago, IL-native made the most of his time on the floor in the 2019 inaugural CEBL season shooting an impressive 44% from the field. Moore averaged 5.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 6 games in 2019. A University of Saskatchewan Alumni, Moore averaged 23.0 and 20.8 points per game in his last two seasons with the Huskies. Prior to joining the Huskies, Moore spent time with Bakersfield College in California. Moore has been a constant presence in the community for the Rattlers since 2019 appearing at a multitude of community events such as “Dunk Out Bullying” which saw him travel to English River First Nation and engage with children through the game of basketball. The 6-foot-2 import guard is known for his ball control, playmaking, and shooting skills.

“Lawrence performed at a very high level in 2019 when he saw the court”, said Rattlers GM Barry Rawlyk. “As a former U of S Huskie, the basketball community in Saskatoon are no strangers to the high level of play Lawrence can bring to the court. We look forward to seeing him continue to develop with the team this upcoming season. Lawrence not only excels on the court, but he has done an exemplary job of representing the Rattlers at community events across the province. He is a great example of what it means to be a Rattler and we are excited to have him back.”

“It means everything to be back with The Rattlers. Saskatoon has become a second home for me,” said Lawrence Moore. “The team, organization and staff are great and the fans are one of a kind. Being back is a blessing to be able to be involved with the community and bring back some entertainment. I look forward to what’s ahead for us as we are in pursuit of bringing another championship trophy back to Saskatchewan.”

The CEBL is preparing for its third season in 2021 starting June 24, 2021, following the success of this past year's CEBL Summer Series in St. Catharines, Ont., which saw millions of viewers across Canada and around the world tune in starting July 25 to watch 26 games played over 15 days in a single-site league competition. The CEBL became the first professional sports league in Canada to return to play after the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in mid-March shut down sports across the country.
