Saskatoon, Sask. - The Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday that they have re-signed Canadian forward Shane Osayande for the 2022 CEBL season. The forward rejoins the Rattlers for his third year with the team. The 2019 CEBL Champion averaged 8.9 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 40% from the field over 17 games played with the Rattlers over 2019 and 2020.

Prior to his time with Saskatchewan, Osayande spent time at Lakeland College before transferring to the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. Osayande averaged 12.6 points, 1.1 assists and 12.8 minutes over 38 collegiate games with the Huskies. The Toronto, Ontario native was voted All-Canada West First Team (2017), and CIS All-Canadian Second Team (2017). Osayande spent three seasons playing in the LEB Silver Club in Spain representing Toros in 2017-18, Circulo Gijon in 2018-19, and CB Prat Juventud in 2019-20. After the 2020 CEBL Summer Series, Osayande signed with Futebol Club Barreirense in the Portuguese top league LPB (Portugal) for the 2020-21 season where he averaged 10.8 points and 7.1 rebounds in 8 games. Osayande then signed with Team Ehingen Urspring in the ProA (Germany) in 2021, where he played 7 games and averaged 8.4 points and 4.9 rebounds. Osayande most recently played for Al-Najma Manama in the Premier League (Bahrain).

Shane saw that we had a Head Coach in place that can lead us back to competing for a championship, and that was very important in his decision to return. I know Shane well and know he will be a player that fans enjoy watching perform.”
