The Saskatchewan Rattlers (3-2) visit the Edmonton Stingers (2-2) on Friday as the two teams meet for the first time this season.
Saskatchewan will be looking to redeem themselves after a 17 point loss to the Niagara River Lions last Friday at home. A win in Edmonton would not only prevent a losing streak but would also give the Rattlers sole possession of second place.
In Saskatchewan’s last game, new addition Terry Thomas put up 19 of the 25 bench points for the team. The Rattlers will need the rest of the bench to step up in order to pull out the win against Edmonton, and a repeat performance from Thomas would certainly help the cause.
Following a two-point victory against Guelph last Friday, Edmonton will be looking to extend their win streak. The Stingers also have a chance to grab a share of second place with a win, which would improve their record to 3-2.
Stinger’s Jordan Baker had a big night against the Nighthawks last Friday, putting up 23 points while also grabbing 13 boards. Edmonton will need him to step up once again on Friday to grab the win.
Saskatchewan has made a few roster shuffles since they last took to the court. Forward Juan Patillo, who started last game in place of Marlon Johnson, has been dropped from the roster, while former Huskie Shane Osayande has since been added to the team.
Rattler’s Captain Bruce Massey was the best player on the court for Saskatchewan last game, as he put up a team-high 21 points. The visitors will need him to lead them again in hopes of staying undefeated on the road.
Will the Rattlers win on the road again, and grab sole possession of second place? Or will Edmonton defend homecourt and improve their win streak to two? Tune in to the game live for FREE on CEBL.TV at 7 p.m. CT.
