Fans of professional basketball looking for a fun way to spend a summer day with their friends, family or colleagues can now purchase group tickets for the inaugural season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. this morning and more information on how to purchase them can be found at www.cebl.ca/tickets. Canada’s newest major sports brand tips off the 2019 regular season in May with teams in Edmonton, Hamilton, Guelph, Niagara (St. Catharines), Saskatchewan (Saskatoon), and Fraser Valley (Abbotsford).

With a heavy emphasis on an array of entertainment before, during, and after games, the CEBL, a first division league partner of Canada Basketball, is modelled after top international professional leagues, using FIBA (International Basketball Federation) rules, and player and referee standards set by Canada Basketball. A league created by Canadians for Canadians, CEBL rosters will be comprised of at least 70 percent
Canadian players, many playing professionally in North America and overseas during the traditional basketball season. The league is operated primarily by Canadian executives from the NBA, NHL, CFL, NLL, and PGA Tour.

Each CEBL team will play 10 home and 10 road games during the 15-week regular season. Teams will all play each other twice at home and twice on the road. The final day of the season is August 15, and four teams will then advance to a championship weekend tournament at a location to be announced at a later date.
