CEBL SAUGA 960 AM Team Up to Deliver Pro Basketball Across Canada

The “CEBL Game of the Week on Sauga960” is returning to Sauga 960 AM radio for the 2022 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League, Canada’s official professional basketball league. Each weekend during the CEBL season, Sauga 960 AM will livestream at least one game featuring two of the league’s 10 franchises. The CEBL is the largest pro sports league in Canada, and stretches across six provinces from Newfoundland to British Columbia. Thirteen regular season and plus playoff games can be accessed at www.sauga960am.ca at no charge to listeners from coast to coast.

The schedule tips off Friday, May 27 when the Hamilton Honey Badgers host the Fraser Valley Bandits at 7 p.m. Eastern time (4 p.m. Pacific time). The season’s second weekend will feature two of the CEBL’s three expansion teams when the Scarborough Shooting Stars host Hamilton on Saturday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time, and the Newfoundland Growlers host the Ottawa BlackJacks on Sunday at 3 p.m. Atlantic time (1:30 p.m. ET).

Broadcasting from Canada’s third largest municipality of Peel Region (Ontario), Sauga 960 AM serves a market of nearly 4 million listeners in the Greater Toronto Area that includes the CEBL markets of Hamilton and Guelph. Programming delivers Sports, both live and sportstalk, Politics, Pop Culture, Lifestyles including real estate, parenting, mental health, gardening, and pet ownership, all from local, national, and international perspectives.

The “CEBL Game of the Week on Sauga960” will feature all 10 CEBL teams at least once during the 2022 season, led by eight broadcasts of the Hamilton Honey Badgers 20 games. The two-time defending CEBL champion Edmonton Stingers will appear four times, followed by the Ottawa BlackJacks, Guelph Nighthawks, and expansion newcomer Scarborough Shooting Stars three times each.

A league created by Canadians for Canadians, the CEBL has the highest percentage of Canadian players of any professional league in the country, with 75 percent of its current rosters being Canadians. Players bring experience from the NBA, NBA G League, top international leagues, the Canadian National team program, and top NCAA programs as well as U SPORTS. The only First Division Professional League Partner of Canada Basketball, the CEBL season runs from May 25 through August 14.
