Canadian Elite Basketball League Set To Launch New Video Series, CEBL Weekly

 Following the launch of its new OTT streaming service, CEBL+ , the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced, Wednesday, the launch of a new video series on the platform titled CEBL Weekly. The show will provide fans a rundown on upcoming CEBL games, latest news, rankings, analysis, interview features, guests and more throughout the 2021 season.


The first episode is set to launch at 11 AM ET on June 24, the same day as the first game of the season featuring the Ottawa BlackJacks and Niagara River Lions. New episodes will be available every Thursday moving forward.


The CEBL Weekly is hosted by Sean Woodley who also currently co-hosts The CEBL Show podcast. A broadcast commentator for the CEBL in its previous two seasons, Woodley brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this basketball-based show. He was a host of the popular radio show “Hamilton is Hoops” on TSN 1150, was the in-arena PA voice of the McMaster Marauders U SPORTS basketball team, has been a host of the Locked on Raptors podcast since 2016 and was one of the play-by-play voices of the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta. 


“I am excited to be a part of the CEBL in the capacity of a studio host” said Woodley. “This season is ramping up to be an exciting one with a lot of top talent from Canada and beyond, and I can't wait to cover all the teams, their players and more”. 


 Basketball fans within Canada will be able to enjoy CEBL live games as well as full game replays free of charge on CEBL+. Viewers in Canada can further subscribe to the service’s All Access Package for the low price of $2.99 CAD monthly or $17.99 CAD annually to further enjoy the CEBL Weekly and a wide variety of on demand video content including interviews, documentaries, highlights, podcasts, weekly shows and more.


  CEBL + is available in the United States and internationally for an all-inclusive price of $24.99 USD annually, $4.99 USD monthly, or through a Single Game Pass available for a $0.99 USD.

 The 2021 CEBL season begins Thursday, June 24 at 7 p.m. ET in the nation’s capital as the Ottawa BlackJacks host the Niagara River Lions at TD Place. The Hamilton Honey Badgers take on the defending CEBL champion Edmonton Stingers in Edmonton on June 26 at 2 p.m. CT, while Fraser Valley hosts Sas  katchewan that evening to complete the season’s opening weekend of action. All games are available to stream live on CEBL+. 


A league created by Canadians for Canadians, the CEBL has the highest percentage of Canadian players of any professional league in the country, with 80 percent of its current rosters being Canadians. Players come from the NBA G League, top international leagues, the Canadian National team program, and top NCAA programs as well as U SPORTS. The only First Division Professional League Partner of Canada Basketball, the CEBL season typically runs from May through August.
