Shooting Stars Re-Sign Kameron Chatman

The Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday that they have re-signed 6’8” forward Kameron Chatman. Chatman averaged 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1 steal in 27.7 minutes per game through 23 games for Scarborough last season. 


“We are thrilled to have Kam back in Scarborough this season. He proved that he is a force in this league last year with his consistency and scoring ability,” said general manager Brady Heslip. “He is coming back to the Shooting Stars off of a successful season in Europe. Kam is familiar with our organization and we know that he is a competitor, his contributions this year will be paramount in us achieving our goals of winning a championship.”


Chatman played 48 games in the Czech Republic for Brno this season where he averaged 15.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal in 28.1 minutes per game. He scored 10+ points in all but eight games and scored over 20 points in 13 matches.


The Detroit Mercy alum led his team in scoring (17.9), rebounding (8.3) and 3-point field goal percentage (.413) in his senior season. He registered nine double-double games in points and rebounds, good for fourth in the conference. Prior to playing for Detroit Mercy, Chatman spent two seasons at the University of Michigan. 


The Shooting Stars open training camp next Thursday, May 18. Their season opens on May 26 at the CAA Centre, in a rematch of last year’s CEBL championship game versus the Brampton Honey Badgers. Scarborough welcomes the Winnipeg Sea Bears to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre for their first home game on June 2. Tickets are on sale now. For more information on the team and schedule visit
