Ottawa BlackJacks Re-sign Local Forward Maxime Boursiquot

Mar 24, 2023

The Ottawa BlackJacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday that Canadian forward Maxime Boursiquot has re-signed with the Club for the 2023 season.

Following a successful university career split between the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees and the Northeastern University Huskies, Boursiquot tipped off his professional career at home last summer, in front of friends and family at the Arena at TD Place. Suiting up in 10 games with the BlackJacks, Boursiquot averaged 6.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals. He recorded his best statistical performance of the season on June 23 against Edmonton, scoring a season-high 15 points, shooting a perfect six-for-six from the field and three-for-three from behind the arc, to go along with five rebounds, three steals and a season-high two blocks.

A six-foot-five forward from Ottawa, Boursiquot spent the past few months in Germany, playing with the Numberg Falcons BC of the German Pro A. He averaged 3.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 14 games and posted a season-high 15 points on November 6 against VFL Astrostars Bochum.

As a senior with the Gee-Gees and under the tutelage of BlackJacks and Gee-Gees men’s basketball head coach James Derouin, Boursiquot averaged 12.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 15 games. He finished ninth in the OUA in steals per game and reached double-figures 12 times. On March 4, 2022, he recorded a double-double with 14 points and a season-high 10 rebounds in a win over Nipissing.

From 2016-2020, Boursiquot played with the Northeastern University Huskies in the NCAA Division I. During his last year with the Huskies, he averaged 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds, and his .569 field goal percentage ranked third in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).

Boursiquot graduated from Immaculata High School in Ottawa where he finished his career as the all-time leading scorer and rebounder.

Last week, TSN and the CEBL announced that Canada’s Sports Leader will showcase live coverage of select CEBL games on TSN and TSN+ throughout the 2023 season, tipping off at the Arena at TD Place in Ottawa on Wednesday, May 24, when the BlackJacks take on the reigning CEBL Champions Brampton Honey Badgers. In addition to the BlackJacks' home opener, TSN will broadcast two BlackJacks games against the Scarborough Shooting Stars, including a home game on May 30 and an away game on June 20.

Ottawa BlackJacks group experiences are now available and include Executive Lounges, offering fans and businesses a semi-private group space with a central view of the court, a dedicated host and opportunities to participate in unique in-game activations.
