On July 25th the CEBL became the first Canadian professional sports league to return to play under the pressures of COVID19 and on August 9th we fulfilled that legacy with an incredibly successful CEBL Summer Series Championship game seen live on CBC and across the world through our international broadcast partners.
Thursday, May 7th, 2020 was supposed to be a great day for the CEBL as our second season was set to tip off in St. Catharines. The stage was set as the Niagara River Lions would have faced our newest CEBL team, the Ottawa BlackJacks. Well..like all good things in life, this will have to wait.
Time sure moves fast when you are blessed with a team of incredible people that share, and deliver, your vision in profound ways. That’s the feeling I currently have as I sit here to write my second blog post as the Commissioner of the CEBL.
Some of you may be asking, "How did a former CFL football player end up becoming the Commissioner of a new Canadian pro basketball league?" Well, that answer is for another day. That said, this is the best opportunity that I could ever have imagined.
